Performance Artist|Event Host|Educator
It all started during his first visit to the Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe slam in 2001. Within the first year of performing poetry as the MarXman he was featured on B.E.T’s Lyric Cafe and was often featured throughout the NYC poetry circuit. The MarXman continued to evolve as a writer and performer, focusing on the intimate connection between his words and those who listened. After years of spoken word he started recording music as a hip hop artist, releasing the NeXt: the MiXtape in 2010 as a tribute to the late J Dilla. The following year the NeXt: the Album celebrated a memorable release event at NYC’s S.O.B’s. Joining forces with band UF Music Group in 2016, the collaboration would produce a live album The Rehearsal, a weekly residency, a college tour, and many guest appearances in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and New Jersey. No Disrespect: Volume 1 is his latest mixtape, compiled from beats found on Soundcloud. For booking inquires, contact email@example.com.
A successful event host can uphold a central theme or purpose while engaging an audience. The MarXman understands how to control the flow of social energies to achieve the goals set by the event planner. The UFMX Experience (2016) was a live music series where he produced, hosted, and closed each show as the headlining act. For booking inquires, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
